Audacity Icecast Muse Rezound Video workshop Plugincinema.com is an independent website devoted to the creation, production and distribution of films online. For the last five years plugincinema has championed an alternative to the Hollywood System. We focus on the emerging area of web-films because it is here that we find a new aesthetic and consciousness emerging. With computers and DV cameras as a production tool, and the Internet as an exhibition, distribution and communication tool the dream of having the tools in the hands of the makers can be realised - the democratisation of film is here! The workshop will start by discussing the concept of web-films and will move on to look at the tools available and ways of making appropriate content. The session will also cover the various distribution models open to people as web-filmmakers. For more information on plugincinema.com and web-filmmaking see www.plugincinema.com or 'Plugin&Turnon: a guide to filmmaking for the Internet' (available from all good bookshops or directly from the site).
