The three day workshop was led by Derek Holzer and Aymeric Mansoux, two audio-video artists based in the Netherlands.

Many participants had brought their own laptops, and the morning of the first day was spent installing PureData along with extension such as the PiDip video tools and GEM 3D tools. Almost all of these laptops were OS X systems, and many people were introduced to the more Unix-like side of their computers for the first time, learning how to use the terminal and command line. The day continued with an introduction to working with PureData, understanding the interface and the main concepts around which it works.

Day two introduced some of the visual capabilities of the PureData extensions, PiDip and GEM, and by day three the participants were able to create their own patches (with the help of Derek and Aymeric).
